Lighting the stone bridge in Resville

Lidköping 2017

One mile outside Lidköping, along the river Flian, is the small village of Resville. It is an old mill village with various small farms and houses but above all an incredibly beautiful old highway bridge from the 1860s.

Mission

Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle AB, in collaboration with Resville Bygdegille, has worked for two years to make Resville, with its unique natural environment and historical remains, an attractive destination in the Lidköping countryside. The three central parts around Resville that have been focused on are the historic nature trail, the village's mill environment and also the old beautiful stone bridge illuminated so that it can be seen more hours of the day.

Solution

In Provector's assignment to illuminate the bridge, extra consideration was given to the fact that the bridge is K-labeled, which means that the bridge must not be loaded with, for example, heavy lifts and scaffolding. The solution was to use waders to mount luminaires in the arches and specially built ladders to mount luminaires on the sides of the bridge. The project was carried out in three stages - test lighting, installation and fine-tuning. In the vicinity of the bridge, there are several residents to consider. They do not want dazzling light entering their homes late at night. The project also included coloring all the protective tubes that surround the electric cables - all for a harmony of shades.
