Forsvik lock is being prepared for the season

Now the project "Göta Canal 2.0" has started again for Provektor. We are once again in place at the entrance to Forsvik lock. This year we have changed the side of the canal to the south side. The newly renovated quay and the walkway along the lock out to the quay now get lighting bollards in place at regular intervals.

We are waiting for the floating bridge out towards Lake Constance to come into place. Lighting will also be installed there and there will be electrical outlets for visiting boats.

Jonathan and Linus have 3-4 weeks to do. Schedules must be kept as the canal opens on May 4 and we do not see that as a problem!

The Göta Canal is undergoing its biggest renovation since its opening in 1832. The work is called Göta Canal 2.0 and is a five-year project where large parts of the canal are being renovated. Provektor is involved in the project at the entrance to Forvik lock.

Phase one - south side of the canal has been completed. A new larger jetty has been built at the old reservoir. This has provided a number of additional berths and new electric charging points have been installed. The beautiful canalside walkway has been renovated and new lighting columns installed.
