Karlsborg Fort ress, located on the Vanäs headland in Lake Vättern, is one of Sweden's largest and best preserved fortresses, which was also planned to serve as Sweden's reserve capital and the seat of the royal family, government, parliament and gold reserve in wartime. Since 1935, Karlsborg Fortress has been a national monument and is managed by the National Property Board.

Western command building at Karlsborg Fortress. Conversion to rental apartments in sizes from 2 rooms to 5 rooms. The apartments have been supplemented with new kitchen fittings and built-in wardrobes. The ground floor has been made accessible to the disabled with larger bathrooms and new external ramps. The project has also included new courtyard houses that house garages, storage rooms and garbage rooms.

Our assignment was to completely renovate all electricity in office premises to apartments, laundry rooms, basement storage rooms and technical areas, as well as the completion of a new computer network.
Karlsborg Fortress is a state building monument according to the ordinance 1998:1229. This means that the working conditions are very special. Building materials must be adapted to the building's tradition in such a way that the cultural-historical value is not reduced.
