That's a lot on a big farm! Now also solar energy.

Åkerholmen Lantbruk's solar energy plant is now completed and produces for Camilla and Morgan Dahlgren. Below you can follow the construction from the start in August 2023 to the finish in November.

We are moving towards the goal.

Now all 822 solar panels are in place at Åkerholmen Lantbruk outside Vartofta and it is time for the roof safety to be dismantled. The inverters on the wall have now been connected with both communication and power. Tobias, Frans and Adam put the final touches to the working switches and then start up and program. Happy faces when it's time for commissioning!

All over the place.

Åkerholmen Lantbruk's solar energy plant is taking shape. We have had a taste of high winds, rain and debris, but not much else to expect as we enter November.

In addition to continuing to install solar panels on the roof, the inverters are now also in place. Three Huawei inverters that will take care of all the solar electricity from the roof.

Frans and Johannes set up cable ladders, pull cables and also expand the incoming cable cabinet to make room for new switches. The next step is testing and commissioning.

Solar panels are starting to be put in place.

The installation of solar cells is now underway on the 160 meter long cowshed at Åkerholmen Lantbruk. More than 100 of the 822 panels are in place. Five members of the installation team are on site all the time. Soon it will be time to start installing the inverters.

Åkerholmen Lantbruk chooses solar energy together with Provektor.

At Åkerholmen Lantbruk outside Vartofta, Camilla and Morgan Dahlgren live with 750 dairy cows. As if that were not enough, there are another 1150 young animals. In addition, there is land to be grazed, roughage and grain to be harvested and much more. To help them, they have 12 employees and just as many from temporary employment agencies. 36,000 liters of milk leave the farm every day.

The expression "it's a lot on a big farm" fits perfectly here! Now one of the 160 meter long cowsheds will get solar cells on the roof and we at Provektor will make sure that it is fixed.

Why solar energy at Åkerholmen?

- "My motto is 'Keep it simple' - disturb animals and nature as little as possible," says Morgan. "Animal welfare and planning are 'a must' for us. I want an energy solution that doesn't take my time and requires minimal maintenance. In addition, we need our land, so it's good that the solar cells are on the roof. Solar energy is perfect," Morgan continues, adding, "and I want to have fun. Solar energy is exciting!

Start-up in September - solar power in November.

Smart solutions - Keep it simple.

Animal welfare goes hand in hand with smart solutions at Åkerholmen, for example, the fans in the cowsheds are frequency controlled, which saves energy. The freshly milked milk is piped parallel to the water pipe, which means that the milk is cooled before it reaches the fridge and the 7 oCwater is heated before it reaches the cows' water cups.

Provektor in Falköping is a bit of a specialist in agriculture.

Perhaps not so strange as Falköping often tops the list of "Sweden's densest municipalities". With Morgan and Camilla, Provektor has been trusted for many years, which led to a major assignment in 2018, when completely new cow sheds with associated lunch room and living room for staff were to be built. Stylish, easy to work with and well thought out. Åkerhomen is a farm that is in constant development with a great curiosity.

- The reason we chose Provektor for the installation of our solar cell system is simple - trust, long cooperation and, of course, competence. Henrik and Robert know our farm inside out, and before them we had Nisse here for many years. I can rely on them 100 percent. Availability is incredibly important to us, we are "open" around the clock and may need help at the same time," says Morgan. "There are refrigerators, fans and milking machines, everything is running all the time. I don't want to think about what happens if something stands still for too long.

Calm and quiet.
When you walk through the stables at Åkerholmen, it is completely quiet and peaceful. The cows eat, they have constant access to feed mix, and they lie in the sand and ruminate.

- The cows should not be heard, then they feel good, says Morgan. "As I said 'keep it simple' let the animals be. This way we avoid stress on the animals. They live in their groups depending on their task and age. They know each other and enjoy working together.

- As an electrician, working on a farm is very creative. There is a lot of "special" and you have to figure out a lot. No two days are the same. And it's a pleasant environment with the cows eating, ruminating and resting. However, there is a certain scent that you take home with you," laughs Robert Johansson, branch manager Provektor Falköping.

Now we are waiting for the project to start and for us to return to Camilla and Morgan during the construction period.
