Provektor the Tech Talents of the Future ⚙️💡

FIRST LEGO League is one of the world's largest technology and science competitions for young people, with a focus on creativity, programming, and problem-solving.

Team Daloc (Lea, Signe, Clara, and Lamija) has raised a total of 200,000 kronor through sponsorships and their own efforts, and this summer they’re heading to South Korea to represent Sweden in the finals, where teams from 45 countries will compete.

For us at Provektor , it Provektor a given that we would contribute. We want to help inspire more young girls to discover the possibilities of technology.
– We need more girls in technical professions. For us, it’s a given that we should contribute to a more gender-equal labor market while also inspiring the technical talents of the future, says Erik Andersson, CEO of Provektor.

We had a chat with the team about their journey, their idea, and what makes technology so exciting.

Congratulations on making it to the finals! Can you briefly tell us about the competition and your project—what is it about?
– The competition has two different parts. One part involves programming a robot to complete various tasks on a table. Both the robot and the tasks are built with LEGO, which makes it even more fun because you get to combine building and programming.

– The other part is an innovation project. Every year, the competition has a new theme, and this year’s focus is on helping archaeologists preserve ancient sites. Our idea is called “Fornjakt” and is a game app where you can virtually travel to different ancient sites and landmarks in Sweden. In the app, you help archaeologists by taking photos and writing a brief note if you notice any damage or changes at the site. That way, more people can get involved and help preserve our history.

What do you think is the most fun about technology?
– What we enjoy most is thinking creatively and coming up with solutions that can actually help others. We also like that we get to learn a lot about technology and programming while working together as a team.

What do you think would encourage more girls to try technology and programming?
– We think more girls would become interested in technology if they had more opportunities to try programming and other technical things when they’re younger.

What do you dream of working on in the future?
– We don’t know exactly what we want to do in the future yet, but jobs as an engineer, product developer, or designer seem very exciting. At the same time, it would be great to inspire more girls to give technology a try.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed and wish the team the best of luck!👏
